The Small Business Internet Marketing Authority

It has taken a long time, but Google, the company who has dominated the web by controlling what information can be accessed and how to find things, is maturing and awakening to the fact that by controlling search as gatekeepers, they are in fact editors - and they have to maintain relationships with the creative community of writers, producers, directors and grant them the freedom to create.

For the small business owner seeking to marketing on the internet I teach and coach them to be "trusted authorities" in their field of specialty or of business. People know how to buy things, that is not the issue. The phrase " a fool and his money are soon parted" explains that without proper marketplace knowledge, as consumers we can a) buy an inferior or even dangerous product b) pay too much for what we want c) buy a product that is out of date and obsolete. With the internet we don't have to risk any of that - we can find a trusted authority and get to the right information to buy the right product at the right price.

Why a Consultant for Small Business Internet Marketing ?

Small businesses who need an internet marketing consultant need to be able to answer a few questions about the performance of their marketing and what their expectations are for revenue. The most difficult thing for a small business owner to do is to find the time to be able to answer these questions. The fact that they are at all interested in internet marketing is likely due to a substantial investment in website design and creation. After making that  investment, and not seeing any increase in sales to offset the expenditure - they are ready to speak to consultant.

The consultant for a small business needing internet marketing will have to be retained as a trusted advisor by a business owner. The reason for this if first and foremost is that marketing is a process and not an event. Promotional events and advertising, as marketing tactics and strategies , respectively, are part of the overall design to reach the marketing goal established and agreed to as the primary objective.
